List of Tools (not complete)

10mm socket and wrench
12mm
14mm
17mm
19mm
21mm
32mm (axle nut)
Center punch for that pesky shift linkage pin
Jack/Jack stands
Cherry Picker if needed

Disconnect battery, intake, header/exhaust. I found it easier to remove bumper and hood so you dont scrape anything. Drain oil and coolent. Disconnect coolent lines from engine to rad. Disconnect fuel lines, disconnect harness either from engine itself or from main fuse box. Pull axles from tranny. Disconnect shift linkage. Set up cherry picker. Disconnect motor mounts. Pull engine.

Thats about it in a nut shell and about 5 minutes of thinking. I know i missed alot so anyone else feel free to add

1. find phone book
2. call a shop
3. take car to said shop and drop off
4. take motor to said shop
5. pay them for their expertise

If you have to ask this question, you're no where near ready to swap.

true, swapping out the old motor is the easy part, just disconnect it all and pull it out.

you're right, that's not necessary, but a helms is 'hint hint'.

no, but sometimes people have easier ways to do things and suggest them on here. besides the manuals dont always tell you everything, or the simplist ways to do them. granted he should of did a search, or read the swap guide on top of the forum, but thats it. all they need is some redirection.

the manual wont tell you everything because you SHOULD have basic mechanical knowledge.

think of it like this...you want the motor disconnected from the car correct? then you disconnect everything that connects the motor to the car. leave passenger and drivers side mounts last.

hows that?

Refer to this expletive face: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1419175.

This sounds right.

10mm socket and wrench
12mm
14mm
17mm
19mm
21mm
32mm (axle nut)
Center punch for that pesky shift linkage pin
Jack/Jack stands

the other problem long live eg6 will have is that when he's done and it doesn't crank, he won't know where to start. Sure you can get advice here on H-T, but if he doesn't know what he's doing, all the e-knowledge in the world won't save him. A helm's is a good place to start, but its not all he'll need to swap a motor.
