Looking at the Optima Yellow Tops and wanted to know if the D34 with 250 more CCA's is worth an extra $40 price tag?

Do you live in an area that gets very cold in the winter? The colder the climate you live in the more CCA (cold cranking amps) that you want.

i'm near Chicago...
I'm more concerned with running all the heavy electronics. Seeing as though these are already "made for" heavy electronic power consumption, would the larger one be better or just a waste of money and extra space?

Running lots of electronics is mouch more of a strain on the alternator than the battery. The battery is really responsible for starting the car, after that its the alternator that provides the juice. You'd be better off getting a high output alternator.
