LS VTEC AUTO ????POSSIBLE??
OK as some of you know i just got my 95 del sol nonvtec auto.
I striped all the damaged front off and brought it to a shell.
What i wanna know is, if The ls motor ever came outo. and if it is possible to make it a vtec
Iknow lsvtec is possible cause my boy did it and it runs great but it's a 5 speed not automatic.
I put this post up in the tech forum but no one was sayin anything
AND TO ALL WHO ARE GONNA SAY **** ABOUT THIS REMMEMBER IAM ASKIN IF IT'S POSSIBLE I WANNA KNOW!
ANY HELP WOULD BE GOOD.
tHANKS TO YOU THAT WILL HELP.

yeah the ls came auto too. Should be possible to build an LS/Vtec with an auto trans.

The same way you would do it to an LS with a manual trans. You don't have to do anything the the drivetrain to make the engine an LS/VTEC.

Yeah. Just do the ls motor swap, and then do a vtec head swap.

You may not have to change the drivetrain at all to convert to ls/vtec, but you better buy a spare ls auto trans because they hate being beaten on. There was a JDM B16 auto trans, and I think you can get them pretty cheap on eBay. Thats what I'd suggest if you are going to be actually revving up into the powerband of an ls/vtec.

or you can just convert your ecu to run vtec... its not really that hard at all... or.... you can find a p28 auto ecu for the civic ex and have it chipped to run the ls vtec.. that would yet be very simple

A few of the JDM GSRs are automatic. You can probably use one of those... but again, they're rare and hard to find.

The GSR automatics are known as SIR-G. Here is a link to a thread where a dude was trying to swap a SIR-G auto into his EG.

My personal opinion, I would go with the LS swap and then do a VTEC head swap. Just my $.02.

anything is possible to be honest with you....but would u really want to spend all that money building an LS/VTEC a potential v8 killeR, with an auto...think it over...theres so much u can do with manual like more power and speed... but its your choice....jus remember its all about the builder and the driver....good luck
U guys are very helpfull. And from what you are tellin me I think I should just swap out my ls block and tranny into the delsol.
The only reason I was go stick w/the auto is because the gage cluster was already in automatic But i do not know if that would have mattered cause it shows the rpms whatever
Manuel then
.
Thank you guys

sounds good..but even if u didnt have the rpm gauge, u can easily swap another gauge cluster in there. and ull be fine..or even put a jdm cluster if u like to read it in kph.

IMO you should just do a manual conversion, you're going to have to buy everything that would for the LS/vtec auto anyways, only you'll have to cut a hole for the shiftlinkage, and buy a couple of extra bolts, but other than that it's well worth it.
Yes Possible
You need to go with a b16 auto tranny for your del sol though. The integra whether its a usdm ls auto tranny or jdm gsr auto tranny will be a pain because it requires an extra 28 wires that need to be run to through the car. This is only for the integra auto trannies into the civic!!! I had a gsr motor with b16 auto tranny put in to my 94 civic and it bolted straight in with integra mounts. it was also a non vtec like yours. I ran the car with a JDM p30 ecu which comes from auto b16 civics in japn. Good luck.
I chose this route because i wanted quicker car. Rememer though, unning a auto you are still gonna be slow. Its not like having a five speed mustang gt and an auto mustang gt were there just as fast as each other.

I have been running my Auto LSVTEC setup for almost 2 years. It still runs strong and still kills many manual driven cars. The torque and HP gains with the B16 head are just sick. Build it right though don't do it half ***. Do your research before putting the head on you need a couple things for it to be right. Head gasket, Dizzy, oil line Power steering bracket...stuff like that.
which manual cars do you kill? geo metros. no offence, but from how i see it, the only reasons people would want a fast automatic is if you can't drive stick and are too afraid to learn manual, you have a wicked fast unstreetable drag car, or you must have a donut in your hand at all times while driving (hence the reason why cops drive autos).
hmmm. so adding a b16 head is what makes all the sick torque on an ls/vtec? whatever dude. do you blow more smoke out your *** or your 6" exhaust tip?
imo, i'd rather do a manual swap to ANY honda engine than do a custom ls/vtec automatic. i mean that is seriously retarded and your asking to get laughed at. import or domestic. rice rice baby.
