Default Injen CAI for Type S

Are there any modifications needed to install an Injen CAI on an 02 Acura RSX Type S? Also, does anyone know of any good header/exhaust combination that allows you to keep the catalytic converter?

you dont have to modify anything to put on a cai it justs takes time like an hour: as for your exhaust header question i would go with a DC or comptech shorty header and HKS hi-power exhaust it makes good power and sounds awesome

good luck with your car!

I'm pretty sure you have to cut the fender lining if that's what you mean by modifications? At least you do on the 05 < models.

Correct, a small hole will have to be cut in your fenderwell lining. Not a big deal, mine is about the size of a fist. Take your time and don't cut more than you need too.

Also, shorty headers are going to give you a max of 3-4 hp. I would go with a raceheader and swap it out when you are ready for emissions.

Or purchase a shorty header and use a test pipe to swap out for emissions. Or lastly, purchase a shorty header and get a carsound high flow cat and weld that in. The stock cat is EXTREMELY restrictive. I highly suggest you get rid of it, and if your worried about emissions go with a carsound high flow cat.
