Default ls/vtec Questions

hows everybody doin'. this is my first post here on honda-tech and i think its a simple question. so here it goes. i have a b16 in my hatch and i love it, however i think i wanna go a lil bigger. if i pick up an ls (b18a) can i swap the heads from the b18 to the b16 and from the b16 to the b18. as well if there are any other parts that i should take from the b16. i know about the ls/vtec swap but i'm not sure if the ls head will work on my b16 block (i wanna put the non vtec head into my beater). thanx for any advice or tips

For the LS Vtec, other parts are required to fit the B16A head onto the LS bottom. You can source parts peice by peice, or we do sell kits with it all.

As far as your LS head back onto the B16A block. It will work. You have to do a few things, but it will work, and it is not that big of a terd that one might think.

It is a good amount of work to do all this swapping. Another thing you might think of is just trying to get more out of the B16A with doing head work and cams, etc. True, you could do this, and still LS/VTEC it, but maybe just some upgrades will keep you happy.

info back this up is people telling me this that have had them. you cant honestly say that if you build a ls/vtec your not gunna drive it hard... its made for power... and if you use OEM parts it wont last.

and what did these people do to make them not last or last? What was teh fanal error in their setup? Good tuning, building them right and paying attention to details will yield one a good ls vtec, the statement that 20k and they are done is kinda vauge. Quailify how oem parts dont last? True if you over rev your lsvtec potentially bad **** can happen. Also driving hard and beating the living dog **** out of a motor are two seperate things.
