My Fiancée's car was a victim of an attempted theft.
So someone tried to break into my Fiance's car. She drives a 2000 dodge neon (nothing in it to steal btw, no CD player or anything). The window molding on the drivers side has been pealed back, the glass has been scratched where the molding was pealed back.
It doesn't seem as they were able to enter the car as to nothing (even if there was something) is missing and the car wasn't left open.
I don't think they were attempting to steal anything, as the fact that the drivers side of the car was keyed to hell. I think it was an act of vandalism rather then an act of theft.
Now my tech question is, the keying didn't hit the paint, just took off the clear coat... how would I go about buffing that out if it can be?

You can see the paint under the scratch is still there. it's not showing any metal.
