'04 Accord V6 won't crank
After sitting for a couple days, my '04 Accord (12K miles) won't crank. I turn the key and it sounds like the starter motor is turning but the engine isn't cranking. Had the thing towed to the dealer for warranty service but they claim it started right up. They were given the same key I used to attempt the start. What's up?
Do you park on a hill. I know when i park my 95 accord LX on a slope and im running lowish on gas (anywhere from 2-3 gal. left) it wont start like you described. The starter turns and the lights all go on so its obviously not electrical. As soon as I get the car on level ground its fine. I was told that the combo of where the fuel gets pulled from the tank and a not strong enough pump are to blame. Try keeping the car level when your outta fuel.
Bad Luck.....seems like the best diagnosis so far.
Battery....Wouldn't a bad battery crank the engine and get progressively weaker?
Low Fuel / Weak Pump.....I park on a slight incline and there was approx. a quarter tank of gas. I would expect that the engine would at least crank like it wanted to start.
I guess the fix is to drive the thing around on a flatbed truck for about 20 miles.
Thanks for your suggestions.

lol... At least seems like you have good sense of humor
I hope the dealer fix it... whatever the problem was

I have to stress the importance of being redundantly clear... when you state the it won't crank, do you mean that the engine cranks and cranks and cranks... but won't start? Or do you mean that the engine doesn't even crank over? Like there is a dead battery?
No the engine doesn't even crank. I hear a sound like the starter motor is turning but the solenoid is not doing its thing. Kind of like a dead battery but all the lights and chimes work and there was never a sign of a labored crank. The dealer claims it started right up for them. It's back in my possession and it's been starting fine, for now. I'm counting the minutes before the next failure.
next time that happens have someone try to start it and you tap om the starter with a big screwdriver see if that helps,,,,,,,,,make sure all battery cables are tight and clean, .. i am assuming they tested the battery and it came out ok ???
