Third (same) caliper this year....
So, this is the third rear driver side caliper I have gone through in the past year.
1) when I bought the car
2) the one I replaced the OEM with locked
3) the replacement for the second caliper is now locked
both times I replaced the calipers I replaced them with a "loaded caliper" set from the local autozone.
when I say "locked" I mean "piston won't retract" so the pad just rubs all the way down until it doas nothing. WHAT WOULD CAUSE THIS?!? I have Earls SS brake lines that are only 4 months old on there. Two of the three calipers were SS lines and the first was OEM lines.
::shrugs:: I just don't wanna go through warranty crap or the time to replace it again. I asked a local mechanic and he gave me the usual "we'd have to look at it" crap.

Once it locks have you tried to bleed that caliper and see if it will release? I had a motorcycle caliper that would lock due to bad MC. I could bleed it and then it would release I would attempt that before you do another caliper. Just something to think about.
Hmm...not sure how old the MC is or the prop valve...thought about putting the '91 EX MC in.
I don't believe bleeding it would do anything; I've tried taking it off and trying the "c clamp" technique only for it to tick me off more
Thanks for the suggestion tho.

on the rears u dont need a c clamp.....the piston actualy acts like a big screw...when u press the brakes it turns and it tightrnd instead of compressing...i learned the hard way....now i have to replace it..

I don't know why...but that just totally foncused me?¿ So what you are trying to say is that you can't push it in but you can twist it back in?
