anyone get out of paying 200$ for an a/c bracket on b16?
200$ from hasport!!!???
for a 1$'s worth of aluminum???
NO! I don't think so!
Anyone have an a/c bracket that didn't cost 200# or didn't come from hasport??
Please, I hate being ripped off because I modify an import!

Del Sol Vtec A/C bracket will work.About $100 from Honda, but you might be able to find one at a salvage yard or in the classifieds here on H-T(or another board).HTH.
is the ac bracket that ugly 4 bolt bracket? it came with my b16.. if thats the bracket that you need i got it.. and i got the stupid power steering pump thing thats on the motor with the bracket and all that.. i dont use it cuz its a drag.. but if you want them both.. 125 shipped?
I don't think the a/c bracket that comes with the b16 works in the crx because you end up using the crx's original compressor.. but maybe not.. if the one that came with the engine worked then why would hasport sell one for an outrageous 200$!
The stock crx compressor wont work bolt up to the del sol ac bracket... im sure itll work if you get the del sol compressor though...
The Hasport a/c bracket is for using the STOCK crx a/c compressor (d-series part) on the B16 block (b-series).

If you want to use the B16 a/c compressor then you could use the stock B16 bracket or the del sol bracket.
I am also interested in a cheaper alternative to the Hasport. Anyone with info? Anyone with hasport bracket?

new question:
If the engine swap package that is purchased (b16) comes with the a/c compressor.. AND the b16 a/c compressor IS used in the crx then do you have to do a complete drain and recharge of the a/c system? HOw does that work??
I know very little about a/c systems unfortunately!???

you have two options if you want a/c:.
1. use your stock D series A/C compressor and buy the HASport ADAPTOR bracket to use the D series compressor on a B series motor, or:
2. use a del sol vtec a/c bracket (of the one off your b16a if yours came with one) AND a/c compressor from a del sol vtec (or any other USDM DOHC B-series car)...which in total would be just as much if not more than the HASport adaptor bracket.
either way you end up spending about the same if you want a/c because you either have to buy an adaptor bracket, or in the least a different compressor if you dont want to buy the HASport one. lol....lose lose situation. yes, once you unhook the system (compressor....anything)...the freon will come out and would need to be refilled when you have the system sealed back together. a recharge is only about 25 bucks though at a shop after you got everything hooked back up.

no the b16 bracket and a/c will not work. if its anything like the gsr compressor and bracket...you will have to have the lines custom made. and that would cost around $200. had a friend do it before the brackets were made.
like someone said before you got two options. and buying the bracket is cheaper/easier.
place racing also makes a bracket (heavy steel). problem is they make two brackets, one for each of the d-series compressors. whereas the hasport bracket (light aluminum) is made to fit both the mitsub#$%#%#$ and the sanden
. and that makes it easier to sell off in the future. i believe these custom brackets also move the compressor up to clear the front crossmember. you might have a fitment problem with the del sol setup, depending on which mount kit you use.
in place racing's advertisment of the bracket i remember they said you dont even have to recharge your ac system. it might be possible. but its a tight *** fit so i dont know how you would do it without pulling the compressor.
btw, i found a place racing bracket for $100 shipped.
brand new from someone that changed their mind. had to spend $20 to re-powdercoat that thing black. thing came in the famous pri blue

pr3 bracket can be made to work with stock compresor!! 2 of the bolts line up perfectly but to get the 3rd lined up you need to grind off a little metal off the compresor. ive had mine on for 2 years never had any problems.hth
ok.. so what is the pr3 from? when I hear pr3 I only think of b16 ecu.. You see, my knowlede of honda isn't very broad.. therefore, I will need you to elaborate!
