For a LS-T, witch tranny use?
I'm building a LS-T in my DC2 and I want to know what is gonna be the best tranny to use between a b16a tranny or a gsr tranny?
I'm gonna keep the same redline as a stock LS.

I'm sure someone will say it after me,...they just tell you to search. My question is, if you are "building" an LS, why are you only going to rev to 6800-7000? Only 7000rpm on a honda just isn't going to cut it plain and simple. Build it so it can handle 8000-9000....you'll be much happier because honda's are not torque monsters by any means.
I'm not building my block to make it rev higher because i'm from Quebec Canada and here the performances parts are expensive. So I just want to put my car turbo.
Thanks for your information.....buy the way I got right now a b16 tranny. Should I keep that?

LS, trust me...
7500rpms. 24" tires, LS tranny. I would hit rev limit like 10-20 feet before teh end. Trapping 125. (psi).
22" tires i was ended 4th just past the 1/8th... 20psi

If you have a LS tranny already i would say stay with that. That's what im doing, but im also adding in new axles, flywheel, clutch, and LSD. For the money i don't have to spend on another tranny i can buy most of this. Don't get my wrong out of the trannys you mentioned i would have to go with the GSR. Its like a medium between the LS and B16. And a nice tranny for the track from what i hear. Good luck on what ever you choose.
if you keep a 7k redline and stock sized tires....a decent ls-t setup will have to shift into 5th by the 1000 foot mark.
I would say go ls.
heres a reference chart, it may not be exact, but its close (22.8" diameter tires)

I would def say ls all the way. My ls turbo made 373whp and 290wtq on pump gas and I had traction bars and potenza so2's and i was always on the edge of spinning 3rd on the freeway! Any more gear I would be completely spinning 3rd and that just sucks ***.........what the point of the power if you can't put it down? Stick with the ls.........

on a GSR tranny with 20" MT slicks w/ stock LS ECU on a b20 turbo setup I had. I ran 12.7 @ 110 hitting the rev limit of 5th gear at the end!

Thank you very much for all your comments.
Now I have a b16 tranny. It's very quick when you are N/A, but with boost I think is gonna to fast. I can switch my b16 tranny with one of my friend that got a gsr tranny, so i'm gonna do this I think.

u might wanna try these crower cams, part # is 63402T, duration is a 220 i think and lift is 469. we reved to 9k with these cams and hp curve was still climbing when we let off. as far as a tranny i use an ls tranny with an obx lsd and a 4.9 final drive. this puts ur gearing a little steeper than a gsr and a little longer than a b16.
