****** 13's vs. 15's Pros and cons of smaller wheels ***********
I just inherited some 87 accord black mesh 13's. I know they'd look good on my car but I was wondering the pros and cons of swapping from my stock 15's to the smaller wheels. I know it theoretically would have better acceleration if the total diameter of the wheel is smaller than what I have now but the question is how much difference will it be. Will the increased sidewall help or hinder in autocross? Lemme know.
*************They might not clear your brake hardware and high performance 13" street tires are very hard to find**************

i AGREE THE TIRES ARE HARD TO FIND/THERES NOT ANY sorry bout that caps I wasn't looking up. Anyways I know the tire are harder to find I was just wondering if there would be any advantages to swapping to a smaller wheel. Like lower unsprung weight, or lowering the geraing a little, stuff like that. I waas really just considering it for cosmetic/novelty purposes. I know when I put the 14's back on instead of the 18's that were on the car when I bought it it REALLY started pulling harder/running out faster. Anybody ever switch to smaller wheels before? What was it like?

***********Yes, you might get slightly better gearing************
***********Yes, you might have lower unsprung weight**********

*Any 18" wheels on a small car will make it handle like $hit!*
*A smaller wheel/tire combo will give you a lower *effective* final drive gearing (though numerically higher)*
*Lower unsprung weight always helps, but not at the expense of crappy tires*
*Wheels may not clear the brake hardware*
*Just because you can make the car faster doesnt mean your street racing *** can drive it any faster*

* well Thanx everyone for their input. If they will clear my break hardware, I will try to get them on today. The wheels look a lot nicer anyway. Plus then I can get some slicks for my stockies or something. Money is tight but both sets of wheels need new tires so that part doesn't really come in to play. I'll try to take some pics and I'll let you all know what happens. *
