Replacing my distributor here and was wondering whats diffrence. My 93 prelude si h23a1 currently has a external coil set up. If I buy distributor with internal coil will it work? What code Am i looking for? My car has been down for one month now please help!!

 

if you buy the one with the internal coil you will have to do some wireing. the external coil and internal coil dizzys have different plugs.

not saying one is better then the other but why not just leave it the way it is.

and what code are you talking about?

what is wrong with your car (trouble starting, stalling, check engine light?)?

 

why buy an internal coil? i'm guessing you are getting one cheap because some guy did an h22 swap and he used the external coil, and is selling his internal coil for cheap

imo i wouldn't do it, heck you can have my internal coil for free (if i can find it) from my jdm swap

 

Whaaaa? You have to do rewiring if you put a JDM Internal Coil on a USDM supposed -to- be External Coil Distributor? How exactly is the external coil one better? What does that External Coil do?

but an external coil is slightly better because : internal ones have found to be less reliable, and thats about it
