So i posted up a while back about my car being flooded during hurricane katrina. Just a little update and help. I basically flushed all the fluids out, changed battery, starter, distributor, and all the fuses. Took out the spark plugs and crank it and water started to come out, about 2 cups of water came out and there still more water. What could i do to get the water out of the without taking the head of. Could i just take the manifold out?

 

you have one of those paint suctioning machines? if not try putting some rags / sponges to soak the water

doesnt seafoam help remove water from your gas tank.... so in theory if you spray just a lil into your sparkplug hole would that help??? ???

 

How about keep cranking the motor with the plugs out? You should be able to get most of it out that way. Watch out though as the water will spray out the plug holes, everywhere. I would think most of it would go out the exhaust port into your header.

I remember riding dirt bikes through streams and flooding out the engines. We used to flip the bikes upside down to get most of the water out through the plug hole while cranking the kick starter.

Once you get most water out, try putting the plugs back in and see if it starts. It will run rough for a wile, but it will eventually even out.

Are you getting good spark from the plugs?

i think if u remove water to the point where the motor will start it will be ok. any remaining water will go out the exhaust valves or turn into steam and then go out.

 

how about oil change and pulling the valve cover?

 

car is up and running just took a air compressor nozzle connected it to a tube and shoved it down and blew the water out..
