OK So Im ready to order some RC 440 or 550 injectors but im not exactly sure which ones to get

I have a 98 hatch DX

going to be runnin a jumper harness and a P28 OBD1 ecu

now I dont want to have to cut into my wiring harness
so If I order the ones for 96-00 civic they will plug in to my harness correct?
or do I need to order the ones for 92-95 civic since Im gonna be running OBD1

Im wanting plug 'N' play injectors no wiring
I dont even wanna wire in some sort of CLIP

just PLUG N PLAY

What are your power goals? If you are def going to want more power in the future I'd go with the 550s.

The jumper harness only changes the wiring from the ecu to the ecu plug, so all the other wires will still be OBD-2a, so you would want the injectors for the '98 motor.

for installing aftermarket injectors on your obd2 vehicle you have 2 options:
1. get some obd1 style clips and solder them in
2. get a injector clip conversion harness. they are made by a company named cpr. PM Viren (b18bturbo) and ask him about them.

the conversion harnesses are more expensive but they do make them.

 

get at least 550s you should really get saturated 750s if you can they are the same price

Most vendors I've seen sell 750/650's for the same price while 550/440's cost about $30-$50 less for the whole set.

For the wiring AFAIK, the injectors should plug right into an OBD 1 engine harness. If you have an OBD 2 engine harness you'll need to get the wiring clips which is required for 96+ Teg/Civics. When you buy injectors just tell the vendor what OBD ECU you are running, what OBD engine harness you have. Best thing to do is get with b18bturbo and ask him about the injectors and clips. He'll know what he's talking about and if you want you can probably buy the stuff from him too.

 

yeah it sounds like this guy has an obd2 engine harness and just got the obd1 ecu conversion harness so he needs clips. i doubt he will need 750cc injectors for his setup but if they are the same price then might as well get them i guess

 

fukk it since I have to wire my harness I'm guessin Im gonna wire in the 450's

Injector sizing isn't based on psi, it's based on power. DSM 450's are good for around 280-320 HP +/-. Keep that in mind when you are trying to figure out how much boost you wanna run on whatever turbo you have.

My DSM;s maxed out at 311whp.

 

Sorry for thread jacking but whats the difference between saturated high impedence and peak and hold injectors?

I'm pretty much in the same boat as the thread starter but I don't know which is which so I don't have to use a resistor box.

Also would I need a better fuel pump if I got 440cc injectors?

 

15 psi.. greddy kit youll make roughly 250 youll be pushin those DSM's close to the maximum duty cycle. 85% saftley* it should be fine.

Saturated do not require you to add a resistor box ...the resistance is built into the injector.

MOST injectors over 750cc are not saturated and require a box as they are peak and hold.

Peak and hold require a resistor box and if you measure the resistance at the injector with an ohm meter it will be much lower then the saturated... which means you add a resistor box to raise it

With the relative low cost of 255 fuel pump about 90$ any turbo car should run one...the honda pumps are known to fail and not flow very well
