it dosent matter Vtec sucks, nobody likes it, infact its a mod that many type R owners do is the ls head swap
you wont actually loose power at all, but it will change the horsepower/torque curve.
if price/availabilty were the issue and you plan to daily drive the car, not drag race it, i would do the b16 head.
i didnt want to be yet another person to scream the word "search" at you.
besides, even if you did, all you would probably find is 10 threads just like this one where someone asked the question and everyone replied "use the search botton you noob"

You'd be set to gain a decent amount of horsepower if you did it right. I've seen a few lsvtec setups run 200WHP with a few mods. I would assume with the minimum required equipment like 160-180 WHP.

I think he means the difference between a b16 vtec head and a b18 vtec head (b18c1, not b18b1).
I haven't researched it, but the GSR head has a better quench design, but the b16 has a smaller chamber overall. The ITR head has the same chamber design as the b16 iirc... The GSR head also has slightly better cams than the b16.
If you meant a non-vtec b18 head... with the vtec head you just won't see any sever torque drop after 4500rpm, meaning much more power. With supporting mods, you can see 180whp from ls/vtec.
