broken studs

Default broken studs

ok like the title says. i have 2 broken studs on the rear drivers side. i dont know how to replace them and will expect any help that i can get cause my aint movin out of my garage till its fixed. i plan on replacing all of the ones in the rear so. plz help asap.

take off the rear hub, hammer the broken studs out, put in new ones.

ya i cant even get the cap for the hub off. i need some serious help on this. its a pain and i need my car.

You need a hammer and a chisel (according to the helms). Mine was a PITA to get off. But then there'll be a whole other mess once you get inside of there. Get yourself a manual if you're going in.

so how different is changing the rear ones compare to the front? I have to change the rear ones ASAP or my wheel will fall off...

depends if you have rear discs or rear drums.

disk brake -

take off all brake components..
take off rotor
take off wheel bearing assembly (you will need to take the 32mm nut off first)
hammer out stud
hammer in new stud..

its a 10 min job

its alot easier then the fronts by far.

take brake compones off
hammer and chisel/flat head to remove the cap
use a 32mm socket to remove hub nut
pull hub off...sometime the back race of bearing sticks to the spindle, if it doe you need to get a puller.&lt;&lt;that rarely happens though
hammer/press old studs out...hammer/press new studs in.

install is reversed from removal.
