Type R gets a Playmate - Purchased an Evo IX MR
After purchasing my Type R almost 6 years ago I never thought my next car would be a Mitsubishi. I took delivery of a Graphite Grey 06 MR last Saturday - could not be more excited! Yesterday was my first experience with full boost! No need to downshift even in 6th gear on the hwy. What a beast! The ITR is still healthy at 93,000 miles and going to stay. Hope everyone is doing well. Enjoy the pictures!

What made you get it?

The need-for-speed. Actually I wanted something that was more comfortable over rough roads and less noisy for longer distance driving. To the general public this vehicle is probably not the answer but as a Type R owner this car really does feel refined and comfortable in comparison (MR version). The Evo offers an excellent combination of performance and flexibility
Speaking of flexibility - I needed to transport an oversized box for work and it did not fit in the Evo! So the next day I drove the ITR and the good-old hatch back saved the day.

I need to devise a concealed display for this car soon! I don't think I can stand leaving the V1 on my front windshield.

Yikes up to 36k now.. I remember when the evo was first 30k when it came out... It seems mitsubishi is cleaver with their steady increase in price. I know the base models are cheaper, but its still the same car!
Nice car though

Damn..... have fun
i dont see you being one of the retards visiting the dealer wondering why your tranny and clutch broke after doing AWD launches all day

congrats on the car!! I'm thinking the MR is the way to go due to the better T-Case and such. My 03 just kept braking WAY to much for me to keep her.
First thing I'd do:
Get better rotors (the stock ones warp to no end)

LONG LIVE http://www.itrsport.com......
Got a feeling EVOMRsport.com is not too far away......
As you get more seat time in it, let us know your pros and cons. Vs. the ITR I got to drive an MR at the AutoX recently and I sure couldn't find much fault with it. /////////////////lots of fun.

Josh! I love the Evo - but I'm glad you still have the R around because you know I'd miss it too much!! You gotta take me for a speedy spin in the Evo, okay?
