Looking for 220 will cost you a decent amount of $$$$.
Are you ready to spend?

try the FAQs, it might help you to decide what you want to do.

id have around

$3,000 to spend

already have 99 jdm itr swap
short ram intake
jdm header
high flow cat
2.5" greddy catback
hondata
255 fuel pump

looking for more power and have about $3,000 to get me there
i really wanted to boost but that would end up running me more towards like 5-6k the right way with a built bottom end and all so im looking into na options. This way i can have more power but still keep it reliable.

Here's how you do it.

1) Sell the JDM ITR motor, Hondata, etc.
2) Get a good deal on a K
3) Swap that in, get header and intake.

if you can pull the motor and put it in yourself, i say get some new 82mm 2 or 5cc wiseco pistons, get headwork, springs, retainers, and skunk 2 pro 2 cams and put it on and make 220 with proper tuning.

you don't need a built bottom end. small amounts of boost on a stock motor is fine, 7-8psi, and you'd be well above 220hp, and would be spending FAR less than trying to make it 220hp n/a. n/a is always more expensive.

Thinner head gasket
550cc injectors w/ ugraded fuel system
Hytech Header (on the way)

I would get my head ported. Get a ported ITR intake manifold to match. 70mm throttle body. Good intake. Toda C cams + cam gears. Portflow valve train. Some 81.5mm Wiseco pistons with a 5cc dome. Hytech header-no cat. Good cat back exhaust. Lots and lots of tuning.

See I would say the exact opposite.

Either of the two lists aboe my post sound good, but there are loads of others. Bradstard's setup is very very nice as well.

You do realize that you'll need to replace that with something much better to reach your HP goal ...

What's the application goal for this power? DD, track, autocross, combination, etc?

And why are you set on NA & 220whp?

Would you even consider FI if these fine chaps showed you the way?

If tracking frequently though ask Chris F what he would and wouldn't do for a future build.

Personally WHP numbers mean nothing to me if tha car isn't balanced, reliable, sorted out and or the driver can't handle or drive it within his abilities.

Very well-put and I couldn't agree more.
