Like-check your-like coolant overflow tank.(Just joking about the "like" stuff)
But seriously, look on the overflow tank on the right side of the motor directly behind the driver's headlight.Make shure it is where it should be on either the hot or cold. But what it sounds like is that your thermastat could be stuck, the wrong kind(tempature or part all together), or even back words. Also stand in front of your car after it idles and gets warm.Watch your cooling fan(S) BOTH FANS to see if they kick on at the right temp. Other than than that your tempature sending unit may be sending a fasle signal.
But thats all the basic trouble shooting advice I can think of off hand.

1. Faulty Thermostat. Shucks has new ones for 7$.
2. Ever flushed your cooling system? (see question #3)
3. Ever back-flushed your radiator?

It could be anything, but these are the cheapest things to check out. I just recently bought a new thermostat and coolant for my EF. I don't think it would be a cooling fan problem. The cooling fans are primarily used while stationary. Could be a faulty water pump too, but I highly doubt that.

i would say that since these are older cars the chances are its the thermostat. when i got my crx i had to change it after a few months. they get old and they just stick. also if u have a friend with a similar honda exchange radiator caps. sometimes the springs in them go bad too.
