There are plenty of replacement parts for the z6 and y8. I don't think replacement parts would be be something to consider when deciding between a z6 and y8.
Back on topic, I prefer the z6, since its in my car and it is obd1 and the p28 is running it. The p28 can almost run everything. Its also great for tunning. And tunning is the key for a build.

Ive run a z6, y8, z6 block with y8 head etc.....I would go with the z6 personally, from what ive heard the y8 oil pumps (and for that matter all obd2 d-series pumps) can take a **** real easy, but honestly just get whats available, you'll probably never notice the difference
