Default Question about Shocks/Springs

I'm looking to upgrade the suspension my 90 h/b. I'd want the ride to not feel like I'm riding on rails the whole time, just nice cornering with a soft ride (I spend a lot of time in my car). I was looking at getting some koni sport shocks and setting them fairly soft. I also want to pick up some springs, but I don't want my car to be lowered. Any suggestions?
