Default HID retrofit?

yeah, sorry but the search is down. but anyway, i've heard of people retrofitting hid's in our cars from something else(can't remember what) is there any faq's on this? how much does a retrofit cost vs a kit(i've seen kits for like 600, no thanks). i'm thinking about doing this if its within my skill level and price range. thanks

if you have a 92-95 civic, i hear that you can buy aftermarket projectors and fit most OE projectors inside with little trouble...just need to seperate everything and realign...if you dont have those skills, just buy some denji projectors and install an aftermarket hid kit. mine work and look good, costs 440 total and 30 minutes of work.

there is an issue in honda tuning where they used the bulbs and ballasts from hidplanet.com and new glass housing headlights from some place for a more stock look as opposed to projectors. The total for the HID kit and glass headlights was 430 though...it looks more stock so i guess thats a plus (no ricey projectors)

They made a few big errors though. They didnt make a shield around the projector so light didnt escape (the whole headlight was filled with light and it looked dumb) and they didnt make a bezel (purely cosmetic, but makes the install look clean which is good).

You can get projectors, bulbs and ballasts for 370+shipping on hidplanet.com
