I believe that that "someone" was David Hsu, owner of Skunk2.. he definately knows what he's talking about. If I remember, the part you are specifically talking about is air flow in the head, and I think what he was saying was that no matter how much you port a b-series head, you'll barely be able to achieve what a k-series head can flow in it's stock form.

The K-series are better for a lot of reasons, not the least of which is that they displace more (2.0 vs. 1.6/8). Then there is the aformentioned head flow. Also, K-series motors are very light for their size, and can still rev as high as their smaller b-series counterparts. The also respond much better to modifications than the b-series motor do. I'm sure there are probably more reasons I have not mentioned, as well.

But still, that just goes to show how Honda motors are evolving. It takes building the **** out of a b-series motor to come near where the new K-series is stock.

you can put bolt ons on a k series with a kpro and tune it and with good cams you can make 240whp.... thats NA

now with a b series it would be really freaking hard and expensive to make an NA engine that powerfull it would require work from bottom to head...

the k series basically improved almost everything that the b series needed improvement on....

but the best part is the head. they are built really well. the more air you can get in and out. the more power you can make.
