No. Just about any Honda motor will work in your car. Any B series will fit in your car, it doesn't matter if it's from a '92 Civic SiR-II hatch, or a '01 Integra Type R. It'll work just fine!

You'll need any motor newer than your car to pass.
So if you have a 94 then you can put any motor produced 94 and newer. If you get a b16a2 which was in the 99-00 si then yes it's legal as long as you have paper work for the motor.

first of all....no J-spec motor has a # after the B16 or the B18

its strictly B16a or B18c we won't worry about the differnce's in the B18C's b/c you have a B16...anyways

to tell what year the motor is...look at the head...right above the header ports....they'll be little circle's wiht numbers in them...the one all the way to the left...it has 2 numbers in it...thats the year it was made....for your own goodness...you hope it says 94 or up....otherwise....find a new motor....just to let you know i have one for sale..

Your welcome...

Any B16a2 will work in your car. Those are from '99-00 Civic Si.
