What kind of car?
195/50-15 is a good size for most of the older Civics, the ones that came with 175/70-13 or 185/60-14 from the factory.
If you want your car lowered, the best way to do so is with the suspension. However, if you have a Civic, the tires you are using now are TOO BIG and they have raised your car, so you still want to switch them to a size that has the same outer diameter as stock. Then you can lower it further with springs etc if you like.
