Default clicking noise while turning

It is probably my axle but what other possibilities r there? If it is my axle is there a way to find out which side is bad? i can't determine which side by listening from inside the car. Will it make the clicking sound if I turn the wheel by hand?

My boots was on the verge of splitting and i changed the boot and repacked. That was about 15k ago.

Get someone to walk beside the car while slowly turning. Or get someone to drive and you walk. what ever you can get someone to do for you. It might do it if you jack it up and turn it by hand, I don't know.

Could it be something else? My bearings were never exposed to the envir. I changed the boots when I saw that they're cracked.

then again 134k axles are pretty old axles

There was a gentleman in here (just b4 New Orleans was wiped from the map) who suffered a complete CV Joint failure (wouldn't move) yet the CV Boot was intact. That was on a '98 5spd I believe.

I had the same thing happen on my 94. Get the axle replaced.

theres a possibility there could be a ticking time bomb under your car that only activates when you turn and thats what your hearing, but lets go with it being your axle

a sharp turn going around 15 mph will produce the sound. It seems to vary with speed.

Can a bad upper ball joint cause clicking because my upper ball joint boot is busted.

It will choose the most inopportune moment to break.
You know, several hundred miles from home in East Bumf...k somewhere, where it will cost all manner of cash (Bubba doesn't take checks and he doesn't take Visa (Voice Over)) just to get it towed home.
Get it fixed.

the chances of braking are slim i have only seen 4 brake in many years at the job, but they were very very noisy before they brike even on straight roads u could hear the car coming, but it will brake if let go unattented and like P-said it willl happen when u are all dressed up and going to a party or running late to gret to airport,or when u are drivind in the middle of nowhere,,,,,,,,,

Advice ??? replace it as soon as u can .......u can pick 1 up and take it to shop to install ,,autozone is only 60-70- dollars..
