Default Anyone ever installed JDM power folding mirrors on your 92-96 Lude?

Just curious.. I've got a set for sale, with relay box and switch.. basically a complete kit..
A local guy is interested in them, but will want me to install them (extra $, of course) if he buys them. I'm not really interested in doing the work, but if the money is right, so beit..
Looking to see how difficult it is.. The civics are fairly easy, but given the door/dash differences, would like to know..

Thanks in advance!

an amalgamation of 2 or more writeups (props to the guys who wrote them)

1. Mechanical

First dismount your OEM mirrors from the car. Then disasemble completely all 4 mirrors

You have: 2 JDM and 2 OEM:

Take out 4 screws fixing mirrors to their supports: 3 are located under the mirror, the 4th
one is located from support side, disassemble mirror from support, carefully pulling the wire harness,
take off a mirror glass and a small black unpainted side cover. The side cover is held by two
small hatches. the hatches are visible if a glass is taken off. Use a long small long
screwdriver to push them when pulling the cover.

When the black cover is extracted you will see 2 small screws - take them off
Take off 3 bigger screws holding the mechanism into mirror plastic cover (visible when mirror glass is taken off).

Now remove the mechanisms.

Swap the JDM mechanisms into your OEM mirrors.

Fix retrofitted mirrors on to the OEM supports.

Fix the wire holder and weatherstrip.

2. Electrical

You should get with mirrors two items,a JDM switch with fold button and a relay.

The JDM switch wires in exactly the same way, the only difference is an additional blue/yellow wire. Extract this wire from jdm connector or cut and splice in the harness supplied, and put it into your oem one. By pressing the button +12V is given to the blue/yellow wire. This is the activation wire for the relay and goes directly to that color on the relay.

Relay: The Black Box!

Colours

blue/white - right mirror fold motor,
red - right mirror fold motor,
blue/yellow - from the switch,
black - ground,
white/yellow - power (+12V constant)
blue - left mirror fold motor,
blue/red - left mirror fold motor.

The white/yellow wire should be constant +12V powered to assure the correct fold operation when ignition is cut (ex. you push the fold button and immediately take off the key from ignition).

Use a multimeter to find a 12v constant source. There is a 12v constant source on the door control module (green box) in the driver-side door. Splice a length of wire into this and add to new harness (going to relay)

Each mirror harness has 5 wires each, 2 on the top and 3 on the bottom. The 3, wire in to the factory colors for moving the mirror up/down left/right. The other 2 go to the relay directly. To be specific the red and blu/wht go to those colors on the relay and the blu and blu/red go to those on the relay.

Cut off the JDM connectors on the mirror harness and your OEM mirror harnesses, and wire in the OEM ones, leaving the two extra wires to wire directly to the relay harness (supplied)

You do have to extend the wires from the right door into the left door to attach them to the relay. Also extend the activation wire from the mirror control switch to the relay.

Test all connections and operations before you reassemble your doors!

any time quik mate!

When i installed mine the hardest part was the boring wiring them in! I found the easiest way to wire them in was to get a "Gopher" a long twisted plastic rod, from Snap-On and threaded the wires through the door harness conduits. Thats gives you a nice clean install. just get your wiring straight off the reel and extend each length approx 2.5 metres to reach the relay on the other side of the car. Twist em all together with a drill and then thread em through with the Gopher. Its a ***** thing i know having the JDM mirrors but their cool in parking spots. I got mine teamed up with a retractable JDM Parking pole and im currently after the ultra rare parking sensors for the rear.

whats a zack? lol

if their worth it, yeah i guess if you value your mirrors when your parked! Plus don;t JDM items score points in the USA shows lol. The JDM stuff here in Australia is cheaper than the AUDM stuff, so its easier to get hold of!

The buyer flaked out. Someone should buy these. Make a reasonable offer. Lowballers will be ignored.
