The slack in the AC belt? Take the compressor off and remove the belt.

well seeing as the belt drives the compressor and u are taking that off it would mean u dont need belt dude. i only run with an alternator belt. If u dont have a/c hooked up then y keep the belt on.

The belt that runs the AC only runs the AC. I think you think that it runs something else... it doesnt. It does go around a tensioner pully, but that is not needed when you remove the AC...

Now break that biotch apart and kill some penguins... you have nothing to fear.

don't even think about it.. most people who remove the A/C system do it because they are turboing their car and need the extra space... the rest are pretty much delusionall.. i'm not trying to offend anyone but most people remove A/C for the wrong reasons... sure if it's a track car who needs A/C anyway... but for a street car unless you turbo, don't touch your A/C because it's not worth it

What year/model car are you removing the ac from? I am looking for a complete ac system for a 1994 civic dx? You can email me at ncnative96@yahoo.com

dont take the damn a/c out. i did that in my first EG and totally regretted it because i sold it after. in my current EG, i put A/C in it... it didn't come with it from the dealer. the difference in weight is equal to about 0.05-0.1 on the 1/4 mile. the shipping weight for a complete A/C system is 40 lbs. if you need power, there is a secret button on the dash. once you push it and the light turns off, you will have power...labeled [A/C]

I thnk you are thinking of a serpetine belt system. Older hondas don't have serpentine systems. They have separate drive belts that drive the AC, power steering, and the alternator. Some newer hondas, however, have a serpentine system that uses one large belt for all accesories

screw A/C. I have so much more room to work in the engine bay now.

plus it gives me more options for turbo manifolds...and if i were thinking about the resale value of the car i wouldn't do anything to it
