any d-series transmission will bolt up directly in, just suggest hydro, vs. Cable

I was wondering the same, I have a 97 and my tranny's beginning to go, so I will need one within the next 6 months or so.

I'd like a hydro tranny, what would probably be the best hydro for the Y8 that would bolt right up, or would I be better off with a cable?

for everything to be all kosher you need a hydro tranny. Any manual EX tranny is similar to what you got now.
