Default Boost?

Just curious if anyoe has ever put boost on a V6 3.0 liter before? Does antone know the cost how hard it is and were I can find info?

Is boosting a car that was not originally designed for it hard on the engine?

Thanks

Yes boost will be harder on the engine but it can handle to a point. The 3.0 V6 has a supercharger made by Comptech if you have a 6th gen.

On a 6th gen however, the tranny CAN'T handle it. Most tranny problems that are inherent in 6th gens come from the V6. I wouldnt risk blowing the tranny with one. Youd have to swap to a manual CL-S like redneck if you wanted to.

Well, if you want a remedy for speed, you'll need to purchase the supercharger if you don't want to do anything custom.

But the tranny is definitely a weak point. Some people just add an oil cooler and I assume that works sometimes but I would not trust just that. Others have had place like levelten build their auto tranny up to handle the power too. But the ultimate solution definitely is a CL-S tranny swap.

You would take a transmission from an Acura CL-S (or the engine and tranny) and swap it in place of teh stock automatic one. Youd ahve to rewire and change mounts as well, redneck dave has done it.

Comptech makes the supercharger. Comptechusa.com
