Default HELP!!! With JDM B16A

just drop the motor in a delsol 93 si...modified a lot of things...shift linkage, power steering, thermostat sensor, hoses, and a few other things. The car cranks but wont start. The spark plugs are not getting any fuel or spark. Check the fuel return and its receiving fuel. The injectors are not sending fuel. Distributor wiring...I am not sure if its right.

Which ECU are you using? I can probably find you a good pinout for the distributor. If the distributor isn't right, it will do exactly what it's doing. Does that motor have the Crank position sensor?

what year is that distributor? if you use one from an obdI b-series vtec engine, it will plug right in.

sounds like some cheapass went the cheapass way. B16a1 motor into a obd1 car that should have got a B16a2 motor instead. have fun on that one. it would have been alot easier to get a B16a2 and dropped it in, saves alot of hassle.

Your ECU, Distibutor and injectors all should match, as in if you are using an OBD I ECU, you should also use the injectors and distributor from that car. That is probably your problem. Check out Sport Compact Car from I think last month, I believe they put an 88-91 B16 into an EG. Just check everything in your setup against what they have in theirs.

i used one from a b18b engine and hacked one of the dist legs off. was half the price of a b16/b18c dist and works just the same. only catch is you only have one bolt to secure dist. i run my engine to 8500rpms and haven't had a single problem since the swap over a year ago!
