Steve Oaks (here on H-t) uses this custom bar by PFIspeed (pfispeed.com). It is $425.00 and the only bar available for the 4th gen that I know of.

how would a setup like that affect the feel of the car. Would it become far more rigid and less streetable?

I called up PFIspeed and they said that the traction bar will be available very soon (like in a couple weeks for special order). The only problem is from what I understand, there is no engine front mount and must be welded on to fit your vehicle.

I thought that traction bars come standard to just bolt straight up to the chassis without any modification, right???

I'm wondering if full-race is planning on making a traction bar to bolt straight up to our 4th gen.

Any details on this subject?

Thanks!

/\/\That's what I'm waiting for. If they can finally get something done for 4th/5th gen Prelude traction bars that is as good as their other stuff, they will sell tons of them.

From what I understand, welding the traction bar is better than bolting it on. Any body disagree?

Welding one to the car would be stronger, but who is going to buy something like that? You pretty much have to make it so that the average Joe can order it and install it in the driveway......

We are working with a design for one right now, and testing one as well for the 5th gen. One for the 4th gen will be made as soon a the general design works on my car. The design does incorporate a solid front motor mount that will be optional.
We will start taking orders in two weeks.

sorry about the hijack....
