HOW CAN I ADJUST MY IDLE WITH NO RPM

Default HOW CAN I ADJUST MY IDLE WITH NO RPM

i have a cx and stock cluster and i have no rpm gauge. i want to know how can i adjust the idle on the throttle body so it can idle good around 500-700 right? correct me if i'm wrong.

also, how can i tell if my distiburtor is bad and need a new one or a new cap. thanks.

1. there should be a little circle thing on the TB (close to the top), just turn it. since you dont have a tach, you wont really know how high/low your idle is. try borrowing a friends oem tach or an aftermarket one

2. you can tell by opening up the dizzy, there should be little stones, if they're black, then try sanding them down, if that doesnt work, then you need a new cap

in the disturbutor, what is a dizzy and how do i open it?

dizzy=distributor

you open the dizzy cap by removing the 3 screws holding it in... the cap is the black plastic thing you see which is connected to the metal thing by 3 screws on the left side of the engine when looking at it from the front

Most obd2 vehicles have a computer controlled idle, if your honda is 96-00 civic than your idle should be pretty low. Those vehicles tend to idle low for fuel economy
