i have a '94 accord, i am a 21 yr old 115 lbs female who needs something done -would it be hard for me to do myself?- i have an oil leaking between the block and whatever you call that thing on the top, because i believe i need a new gasket. i've cleaned the engine and have been driving it a little to see if it is comming out where the gasket is and it is comming out in the back (where the gasket lies). so question is can i change out the gasket myself- i have no one else to do it?

 

The valve cover gasket is no problem at all. Take out your spark plugs, unscrew the valve cover and replace the gasket. That's all there is to it.

 

go get a book and that will help but yeah if its just the valve cover gasket it will be easy do you have tools and **** ?

 

Yes, It shouldn't be much of a problem; as long as you have the correct tools, and take you time. The F22Bx engine is rather basic, what with only several bolts holding the Valve Cover down.

I've included an illustration of what you'll be looking at. If you have an EX, with a F22B1 - the illustration you want is the one on the right of the picture. If you have any other model-you want the illustration on the left.

Basically, it (#3) Cover is held down by #14's (4) Chrome Cap Nuts. What you'll be replacing is (#5) Valve Cover Gasket, four Spark Plug well Seals and possibly (#15) Sealing Grommets.
If you've got a digital camera, take a picture b4 you start. If there are any wires or hoses you've got to get out of the way, get yourself some masking tape and mark them as to where they went. Refer to the pictures you took b4 you started if you become confused as to where everything went.
