Fuel pump fuse blew... why??

Yesterday I pulled into a parking lot, and after I hit the entry hard (it's a rather rough entrance) my car died and would not restart. Luckily the seats were out so I could hear the fuel pump and I quickly determined that I wasn't getting any fuel. After looking around I found that my 15A fuel pump fuse blew. Replaced it with a spare, started right up, and drove fine home (although it was only like a 5 min. drive).
I'm wondering what might have caused this because if it happens again I may not be so lucky for it to happen right next to an auto parts store 1 mile from home. My friends and I installed 2 kill switches, but the solder jobs on them are very solid (checked them yesterday). My friend said a factory ground wire could be a little loose... where exactly are these located? I suck with electrical stuff and don't want to rip my entire interior out if you guys know where I can specifically look. Do you think I'm in danger of this happening again, or is it just a freak thing? I do run pretty stiff suspension and I hit the bump hard, but IMO I've hit some harder ones and nothing happened.

No that's not what I'm talking about at all.
I'm not good at electical stuff at all, but every circuit must have a ground wire.

I know you said the soldering was good. BUT, was the soldering wrapped with some kind of electrical tape, or shrink tubing, cause if the solder joint touches the chassis (when going over bumps maybe) that would ground out and cause a short circuit, and pop goes your fuse.

Yes, it was wrapped very well w/electrical tape so I don't think that's it. Good point though.
After reading up a bit, this one guy on T-I thinks that it is because I've added excessive resistance to the circuit. That extra ~20ft of wire (I have 2 switches) really takes a toll and that's what caused it he thinks. He suggested wiring the switch from another source by the relay... ya I suck with electrical stuff, here's a link (page 1 and 7 mainly):
