Oh, I forgot to mention, the cams will be used with Type S oversized pistons...

You need more than just pistons to pick a cam profile.

Search around, you'll find some nice information.

Skunk2.........thats just my opinion though.
I've seen numerous dynos with those, and I like the numbers. I also like the quality of the cams. The lift/duration are great.

depends on car, if its a daily driver no better then oem, and since its h22a go with the type s OEM cams best overall for daily driving and racing on streets , when it comes to cams i like the OEM type S and there made for the motor so in my eyes their more reliabe then aftermarket

You won't find many experienced Prelude guys that like Type S cams unless it's in a Type S motor.

From my understanding skunk2's are about as good as JUN HP wise but are inconsistent. One person may get great results while another may not.

Yea, but the Skunk2's aren't as full in the midrage as the JUN's and you are right, the Skumk2's aren't as consistent. I think everyone agrees that the JUN's are a quality product.

I'm going with Crower, but only because I had a Crower valvetrain already. Kind of iffy about mixing different valvetrains and cams.

Isn't that because of camshaft timing?

I remember reading on here that with the Stage 3's, Crower reccomends that you machine the rocker's to certain specs to prevent clearance issues. You should check with them. I'm almost positive that they reccomend this for the stage 3's.

Yep its true I think it was .060" off the rockers.. We only did .030" might have to take em back to the machine shop again

I think machining the rockers is only if you use the spring/retainer kit.

From the Crower site:
Note: The Crower spring/retainer kit 84167 features a +.060" installed height retainer to allow more spring travel. This added installed height may interfere with the bottom of the rocker arms. If that occurs, you must machine the underside of the rocker arms for proper travel.

I think you can use the cams without the machine work, but if you use the valvetrain kit with thier cams you have to machine the rockers.

yes machining the rockers if when you have titanium retainers, and i did this. I did have oversized valves, but they weren't hitting JUST from that, it was a combo of things... .0015 off head, the cams, and who knows what else. But i do know that my timing was perfect, everything was at TDC before and after motor boom boom.

I want dynos. I made over 200whp and over 160wtq on a Dynojet 248C with Type-S cams, 11:1 compression and crappy 2.25" crush-bent exhaust... I make slightly more horsepower and torque than a friend's H22 with Crower 2's and 11:1CR and 2.5" mandrel-bent exhaust with comparable amounts of tuning. Do not underestimate type-S cams.

that h23vtec in the allmotor forum made like 250whp on a 248c with them...

but i have never seen a direct comparison like that before....do you guys have headers??
