Default SRT-4 seats into my EG (pics!)

Hey guys...just thought I'd share some pics of my new seats. I've always liked the stock buckets that come with the SRT-4, so I've been keeping my eye out for a pair. I bought these from a junkyard like two hours from my house, but it was worth the drive. There was a slight bend in the driver side seat with one of the leg bolsters, so I got a good deal on them. I took apart the seat and bent it back...which was a little more work than I thought it would be, but it's fine.

They are very comfortable, they complement my interior better because they're black, and they keep me firmly planted when going through the twisties.

Eventually I'll probably do a write-up on how to install them, as there are some slight modifications required to make them fit.

Only thing left to do to complete my interior is new black carpet...

I enjoy my new seats, and recommend them if you have the chance to pick some up.

the seat was sort of a pain to take apart, and I even had to use my weight set to get the proper torque to bend the side bolster back, but it had to be done...

one I tried to fix is on the right

Did you get them cheap? Not bad for your car though.

I have an SRT-4, and I hate the seats. They are the most uncomfortable seats I've ever sat in. But maybe it's cuz I'm short - 5'7

Haha...yeah I only have one wiper...the passenger side wiper motor doesn't work, so until I fix it I just have the driver side wiper located in a more central position...it actually is similar to some race cars lol.

I didn't do it for looks though, more because I wanted to be able to SEE when it rains. I'll get the other one fixed soon though.

I have lost a few auctions on ebay for these seats, and the winning bid is almost always close to $500 for the pair...I got them for $350 at a junkyard.

Hmm...ya I don't know, personally I think they are quite comfortable. I'm 6'1, so maybe you're right about height having to do with it. Sorry to hear you don't like them though.

Haha...ya I wish I had a K-series in my car...right now I have an H22 (which I've been very happy with), so the accord/prelude shifter unit had to be used.

Cables

Soon a PSPEC shifter will make it all better

Yeah...it really does feel so much better. The stock seats were ok with comfort, but I slid all over the place when doing "spirited" driving.

good diy, but the seats have the "dodge cheapness" to it doesn't it?

eh...not really, or at least not as much as some of the other stock Dodge seats would. The seats themselves are made out of cloth, and the bolsters have black vinyl on them. Of the many reasons I chose these seats, one of them was because they look like stock buckets....because that's exactly what they are. I didn't want any writing or color themes on my seats; that's why I didn't spend my money on Sparco's or something similar. Those seats are great, but I just wanted a simple, stock-looking black bucket seat. Which = SRT-4 seats

I'll expound more on the install modifications when I post a "How-to" thread, but other than drilling some holes and using my own bolts, there really wasn't many modifications needed.

I used the SRT-4 seat rails...I didn't swap them with the civic's.

The seats are actually pretty nice. They aren't leather, but a textured cloth material.

The seats are comfy if you're tall and if you're short, they're good too, but not when driving, it's kind of a bucket seat, and so if you have short legs, well...shifting just isn't comfortable. But they may be different in an EG (perhaps they're closer to the ground(floor panel).

Nice work btw, they look sweet in your car.

I thought the exact same thing and then a friend pointed out that i was slouching in the seats. Bucket seats aren't meant to be slouched in. After sitting up properly i realized they were pretty nice.
