Need advice on possible new turbo...
So I have been thinking about this... I have a B16 (9:1 CR) with a 57 trim, .60a/r, T3/T04E Garrett @ 16.5-17 psi. I dynoed at 362 whp and 261 tq. I don't hit full boost until around 5800-6000. I am thinking about switching the exhaust housing to a .48 or just getting a new turbo. I don't want to go ball bearing because I don't want to pay that much for a turbo quite yet. Is there a turbo that can get me these hp numbers that spools by 4500 or so? Will changing the housing make that much of a difference in spool time? Need some input.
If you get t3 super 60 boost at 17-20 psi you might be able to get that hp with spool at 3500-4000. really fun to drive but a little marginal on efficiency.
switch to .48 a/r. you don't need that much top end, you are spooling too late to get usable power.

I was also thinking about .42 a/r. I am currently running a 2.5" DP. Would gutting the cat and matching an exhaust housing proportional to the downpipe have any drastic effect.
any turbo with a 60 trim is good for at least 300whp. go with a t3. that should spool up fast on the b16. and hold all the way to the redline baby

any t3 based compressor wheel will not accomplish your goals... the 60 trim is only good to around 300 crank hp. try the .48 housing on your current turbo first, it will help spool a few hundred rpm but the top end will lack a little compared to the .63
