non factory championship white difference?
i've been wanting to paint my teg championship white because it looks better with a jdm frontend, but after looking at my friends 2000 dollar championship white paint job, i think it looks more cream then white. i've seen a couple CW itrs run around and i swear its not that creamish. I like CW on a factory itr because its a cleaner CW, but i think its more creamish then actual white when the shops paints it on... prove me wrong yo... i know that differennt shops have different mixes...

In other words, you want your Integra to look like a Type R.
There is no variation in the paint color if they use the right paint code. If it were to vary then a lot of customers would be pissed (duh) because the panels would not match.
Don't paint your integra CW unless its VIN contains DC231 please.

only thing I can think of is that maybe it looks creamy because its so new and sun hasnt faded any yet? But yea the paint codes should all match... and even if its not perfect, a good shop will blend so you can not notice a difference unless you were looking hard for it.
i want championship white because i'm too lazy to wash my car and my friend said championship white looks better when its dirty or dusty...

Sounds like you used a crappy body shop. A really good body shop matches to the paint that's already there, not just according to the code, because paint can fade and change color over time.

my front bumper looks creamy when all holes in it were shaved. you can see little specs in the paint when up close too, like little dots in it. I recently discovered that the passenger side 1/4 and rear have been repainted also, but the paint mathes REALLY well on there.
I was going to repaint the bumper, but decided not to since i wont be driving it anymore except to race and on nice weekends, and nobody notices the difference in color unless I make them stare at it and agree with me lol.

I now have an official number of seven different shades of 'Championship White"

I have yet to see an original body panel painted CW match a body panel thats been repainted. White is without a doubt the hardest color to match. My buddies EK is painted CW and is noticeably different then the color of my CW when parked next to each other.

Not true. Actually, true white is one of the easiest colors to match. But CW is not true white; it's an off white.
The hardest colors to match are paints which have texture to them, rather than solid colors. Metallic paints are a great example; the shop has to match not only the color, but also the size and directional alignment of the flakes in the paint. Even more difficult are the pearlescent paints and the color-changing paints.

That has nothing to do with matching colors. As previously noted, when painting panels, a good body shop tries to match the color to the adjacent panels, and blends the edges in as well. That never happens when comparing one car that has been entirely painted by a body shop with a different car.

Heres a pic of my 98 ITR. When I had the jdm front painted, we butt matched at the doors, no blending. The paint code they had at ppg did not match, So we custom mixed and it matched pretty damn good. The code that ppg has too much orange in it.
The JDM front end was painted 4 days before expo

New paint rarely matches old paint, thats why body shops have to blend panels to get a good match. And while i have never looked up championship white on the computer, there ARE variations in colors between each paint code. If you look frost white up theres about 5 different variants under PPG's deltron lineup (same paint code)
A lot of shops probably just choose the prime formula to spray a car and hope it matches, however on some paint lineups the color match suuuucks.. PPG's Global lineup(supposed to be top line) has color matches that almost always need to be tinted to match while their deltron(which i use) almost always matches. You can tint all you want but blending panels is the best way to match when you're not painting the whole car.
