idle problem...plz help
I had a problem with my idle for a while now...F22B2 A/T
Before: In park or neutral...its normal. In drive or reverse..my rpm drops below 500 and feels like its gonna die.
Now: To rid of this annoyance..i adjusted my cable so that "D" and "R" would range around 700-800 rpm...But when I do that..My rpm on "P" or "N" would range around 1750-2000.
Things I've tried so far: Clean FITV, clean iacv, clean egr, seafoam, new spark, wires, rotors, cap, valve adjustment. replace fuel filter.
I'm gettin a new motor cuz I just found out that my compression in #3 is 65. Other cyclinders ranged 175-185. Would this be causing my problem? I just want to fix this problem for learning experiences till i get my new motor.

Loosen that cable back up till it has about a 1/4 in. flex. Unplug the IAC valve and adjust the idle screw to between 500 and 600 rpm, plug it back in and clear your code. Post back if this helps or changes the nature of the problem or if the idle screw has no effect.
well, what i noticed with the IAC valve was that if you cover it up with your finger, then it dies, so its possible that the iac valve just isnt getting enough air. also, do you have the throttle body coolant passage blocked? cuase that can also cause your idle to not do so well, cause the FITV is pretty much ineffective without that. heres what the haynes manual says about it:
the FITV is a device attached to the TB that controls erratic running when the engine is cold. engine rpm levels are raised using a wax plunger that expands and contracts during warm and cold cycles.
