I can't stress this enough.

 

What seems to be the problem exactly? You gave him money/your motor and he was supposed to build it. However, he turned around and sold it instead?

You know his name, you should be able to get his address/information. Where was he doing the work? Did you drop the motor off somewhere? Can you contact the police?

If you don't have proof that the motor was yours and you didn't give consent for him to sell it, then you're pretty much out of luck. The only way you can really get compensation is if you take the law into your own hands at that point. But I won't suggest anything here on a public board.

Well if your going to "take care of him" Then how will he be around to screw us over? If the cops get him hell be arrest which in fact would mean he cant screw us either.

Exactly. I think something like this is common sense.. If someone breaks into your house, do you come to HT first? Or call the police? I'd pick the latter..
