Default Dx to Si EK Cluster swap? Quick Question!!!

I am doing a Si Cluster swap on my 98 dx civic HB. What is the green plug for? I dont see anything that is supposed to plug into it from my harness. Did the rest of you just leave that spot unplugged???

Thanks for the help....

I forget what it's for but you're fine without it. All your essential things will work with the other 3 plugs in. Tach, speedo, fuel, and temp will work for sure.

Tell me how this swap works out. I also have a DX but didn't think an Si or EX cluster would work properly since they have a tach and i didn't. I didn't know if the wiring for the tach was there or not. Also, do you have to splice anything or did you just plug the old harness into the new cluster?

Unplug your DX cluster and plug in your Si or EX cluster. Your harness is already wired for the tach.

CORRECT! Did this on my 96 DX civic, I just plugged in a 1999 Ex cluster and done.

anybody know why this is?...i mean was it really that much more cost effective to leave out the tach in a dx?...i mean its wired and everything...why not just put the tach?

I guess it is more cost effective.

Its both cost effective and makes money, as I'm sure some people will buy new ones from the dealer just to get the tach.
