V-tech Controller?
I have a 92 civic d-15 v-tech motor however i do not feel the v-tech kicking in...can there be a problem and what kind of problem would that be..i have a apex-i v-tech controller i just got it, its the new model. i was wondering if anyone know and let me know some ideas on how to set the v-tech on the controller and get the v-tech working thanks...
recharge the batteries, those vtechs can be a pain in the *** when the charge is low.
vtec controllers are notorious for causing problems like these. did vtec stop working after you did the install, or did it never work?

YOu cant really feel it on a D series as much on a B series. I say check your wiring if it occured after the install. If its your first mod, sell it and get real mods
its god damn VTEC, not V-TEC, NOT V-TECH, ******* VTEC FOR GODS SAKE
ohh and there is no reason for you change the VTEC crossover point unless you're on a dyno

Your D15 is a tiny econo-motor with emissions-friendly VTEC. It doesn't make power and you just wasted money by buying that ricer toy.

nothing much just dc headers and an aem cold air intake.. im saving for the b-16 swap...but the problem happened after the controller was installed... i had the wiring checked everything was okay....i really dont expect much power but i still should feel something out of the motor?

nope
nope
yep you waste money on that thing. Doesn't do much...even running the afc hack it still almost made no sense to lower the crossover point a lot.
I think for most civic's the crossover stock is arond 5500 rpm

ditch the vtec controller. it won't help you with either setup. a lot of people think moving the vtec engagement will make their car faster, but it doesn't. Not unless your engine internals are no longer stock, and at that point you would require tuning tools that are far better than a vtec controller. IMO, sell it and put the money towards that swap you're saving for.

I would remove the vtec controller, and put everything back to how it was. Then see if it works. Sell the vtec controller and save it towards your swap.
BTW: Are you certain it isn't working? Don't try listening for it, feel it.

Yeah, I don't know what these people are talking about when they say you can't hear or feel VTEC on a single cam engine. Are you shitting me? If you can't hear the blatant change in tone when you hit VTEC crossover on a Z6, then you're deaf as a stone. If you can't feel it, then you haven't been around cars long enough.
Regardless, leaving VTEC where God (read: Honda) put it, is the most intelligent decision this kid will ever make.

Dude, just ditch the controller. It's not going to give you any noticable gains in hp regardless on a single cam. If your want some real power out of a SOHC, go FI
Put it back to how it was and save your self the headache.
Good luck with whatever you do
