Which amp would be better for a 10 inch Infinity Kappa Perfect sub? JBL BP600.1 or JL Audio 250/1?

Why does the JL cost more when the JBL puts out more power? Which one would make the sub sound better? I think this will be my last question. Thanks for all the help guys.

I would say the JL, in general I think they make a better product. You have to be carefull comparing watts of an amp, there is no real standard of how to measure the output, and some companies tend to underate or overate thier numbers. You could draw parreles to saying my car makes 300hp at the flywheel, when your friends car puts down 270hp to the wheels. Which one is faster?

 

The JL amp is high quality, they dont make anything crappy. Its going to have a lot more features than the JBL amp. Then again if you decide to upgrade with another sub the JBL will be able to give you more power when you drop the ohm load. I say the JBL 600, i have it and its never warm and doesnt give me any problems. Im getting rid of the out of date 10w6's and replacing them both with a single kicker 12L5. It costs 150 off ebay and can handle the entire 700 or so watts the amp puts out @2 ohms.

I would say the JL, only becuase I have heard horror stories of putting too much power to Kappa Perfects. Normally I'm a proponent to buying as much power as you can, but not with the perfects. Many have had problems with two on a JBL1200.1
