Default CAI recommendation for 98 S

I have a 98 S prelude and im looking to buy an aftermarket intake.Should i get a cold air intake or short ram?Im looking for the best performance i can get...ive been looking at K&N Typhoon , AEM V2 and Injens RD/RS.Anyone have any recommendations for my setup?Should i be looking at a different brand/model?Everything is stock except for a evo2 cat back exhaust and im looking at buying a random technology cat.

Thanks

p.s. searched before i posted this and didnt really find anything...

Most people around here will tell you to just get a 2.5 - 3.0 inch pipe from EBay and a K&N filter..bada bing bada boom!

it would be better to get a CAI and not a SRI. I remember when I turned my AEM CAI into a SRI and i lost power in the mid-high end. CAI all the way. They should pretty much all work the same, as long as you have a good filter that's really all that matters. if you wanna keep your car looking pretty stock, you can get the type s intake.

I have always preferred short rams for my hondas, lets face it, hondas are not known for thier low end torque (which equals drivability). with CAIs ur generally sacrificing low end torque for high end HP, if all you are looking for is peak HP #s by all means get a CAI, but if u want drivability get a short ram.
I have experience driving both my friends 01 sh with a AEM CAI and my 97 with a AEM short ram and my car has smoother power delivery.
BTW AEM intakes are so cheap now I dont see why someone wouldnt buy one. One can be had for $115 from http://www.nopionline.com/nopi...01997

every dyno i have seen shows that a CAI has better low end and midrange delivery while the SRI may have a slight advantage top end.

Not trying to steal the thread but I got an Ebay CAI pipe and filter. I live in cali and the pipe doesn't have a "Carb" sticker on it will I automatically fail smog on the visual? Car is a 99SH.

It's not likely unless your intake is submerged under water. If you want to be on the safe side, you may get this bypass valve by AEM or you can turn your CAI into a SRI for the winter. With the bypass valve you might notice a little bit of power loss, as goes with the SRI.

yes, without the sticker you will fail the visual.

as long as the intake pipe is the same diameter it will work. but i don't think that aem and injen have the same diameter.
