Default B16 in a 90 Integra, is it that difficult??

Well,

My car's motor needs to be put to sleep (187,*** miles) so I want to do a motor swap. Went to a shop last night asking how much do they charge to do the swap. The owner asked what car I have. I told him 90 teg & he laughs (not a loud but like an "impossible to do" laugh). He says it can be done but it's gonna be a b*tch.

Today I'm looking at websites pricing motors & the two sites that I looked at, so far, says "B16 for 92-93 integra".

My question is,

Exactly how difficult it is to do?

What “special item” do I need to complete the swap? (harness, modify brackets, have a monkey hold a bolt, you know, things like that)

Is it worth it or should I just get another car? (I really don’t want to cause I like this car)

Thanks in advance.

I have a 91 DA, I can't imagine what is difficult about this...maybe there's something I'm not thinking about...I dunno. I've been swapped and there are TONS of others on here swapped so look around and ask questions to others...good luck

It is easy as swapping another b18a in there. It is a worthy swap if you ask me. After all, the B16a is the first honda that come stock with this engine. You will need a jdm pr3, pw0 or have your ecu chipped to run it correctly.

Yeah, my buddy has a 90 teg, and he has a B16 in his, your just going to have to do an obd0 to obd2 conversion. I would recommend doing this yourself, you'll learn alot.

Because if the guy says its going to be "difficult" he's probably going to charge you out the *** for it.

Just get a few buddies together and wrench away.

If that includes everything, I don't really know, never done a swap. The thing w/ projects like that is, they will be working on it, but like 1/2 way into, they'll say, "well, this is broken" where, in reality, it very well might be, but its not nessecary for that to be replaced to do the original thing, the swap.

Just be mindful of these things if you do that.

I would just do it yourself, personally, I think it would be fun.

WTF are you talking about??? Where did OBD2 come from. If you get the 92-93 B16A you will need an OBD0-OBD1 conversion harness (pretty cheap) and the OBD1 VTEC distributor from the new engine pinned into your stock OBD0 engine harness.

Yes, that's too much. $600 is a fair price for a clean swap. Swapping a B-series into a car that already had a B-series is pretty easy. Axles, shift linkage, and engine mounts are all the same...so no need to buy new ones unless your old ones are crap. Good luck
