Member of the Honda Family Again........(PICS 56K NO WAY!!)
What's up everybody? I had an EF hatch that was totalled early in the year. My wife drove a Toyota Matrix. There's the setup.....
My wife and I got rid of that POS Toyota Matrix. Hoo-F*CKIN-ray!!!! I hated that car.
So on saturday we picked up a 2005 Accord V6 Coupe 6MT. It's a GREAT car. The handling and acceleration are unbelievable. The tranny is super strong. I've never been in a Honda that's so comfortable. The mounts are liquid filled. I actually set a beer on the IM and revved the motor w/o spilling a drop.
We actually bought the car from the Desk Mgr. at the Honda dealership we went to. We went to look at the new Civics(<----Sick! Even the EX is really nice.) I said I would look at an Accord if the had any of the 6MT V6's in stock. He said they didn't, and we went inside to grab some brochures on the new SI. He went to ask his Mgr when their first SI shipment was due in. His mgr asked what other vehicles we were interested in and our salesman told him the Accord. He saiid, 'Show em mine.' So we looked at it, and fell in love. We didn't want to talk price until they gave us a price on the car, and a trade in on the POS. They came back w/ some great quotes, and we went home and called our bank.
They gave us Private Party instead of Trade-in on the Matrix, and they absorbed the Accord into their stock. Then gave it to us as a Certified used Honda at the Private Party price!! It was one of thhe best car buying experieces I've had. The Mgr only bought the car in August, and put 5005 miles on it. It had it's first oil change Sat. morning. He was going to get rid of it anyway because they just gotten an Acura TL w/ 2000 miles on it as a trade at another Earnhardt's, and he really wanted it.
So, we ended up in the right place at the right time, and Avondale Honda was a great car buying experience.

Look at your VIN number. It's the 4th-6th digits.
For example, my car = JHMCG5656XC...... plus whatever my last 6 digits are. (I can't remember off the top of my head.) My car's chassis code is CG, and more specifically, my car is a CG5.

After everything was said and done. It came to just over $24 OTD. <---About $1K more than buying a brand new SI. It only has 5,250 miles on it. I've put 250 on it.
This is great to drive. The double wishbone at all corners makes this 4300Lb. car handle like it's on rails. The suspension is nice, but it's a bit too much body roll for my taste.
So the plan for now is a Tein SS w/ pillowballs, and some nice rims. Maybe even 18's(<--never thought I'd be shopping 18's for a Honda) Something w/ a little wider track.
The torque the V-based motor puts down is sooo nice. The tranny is the best I've felt in a honda.
I'm not sure what my other plans as of........yet.
On a side note, my wife was quite surprised when I told her I don't know of any 03+ Boosted V6 Accords in Arizona. She said, 'None? How much horsepower would it give us?'
I told her roughly 75-150 depending on how much we want to build the bottom end, and how much PSI we want to push.
She replied, 'How much is it?'
'About $4K +/- plus tuning' was my response
Her response, 'Ooooohhhh we should do that!'
Now I know why I married this woman......
So FI might be in the future of this car.

As a matter of fact she does. Her sister is an elictrical engineer for Dolby in San Fran/Berkley. lol
I need some tower bars too. I'm going to crawl under it today to check out the suspension.

I'm not sure what you were looking at, but the vehicle weighs 3303 lbs, according to Honda.

Those wheels would look fine, but you want at least 18's on the 7th gens, even 19's. They swallow up wheels and they dont look as big as they really are

I was looking at that useless little sticker on the inside of the driver's door......
I'll post a pic of it just for you.
Can anybody help me find some nice rims? I've never needed anything over a 16".

anything with a moderate lip and 5-7 spokes will look AMAZING in a 18-19" wheel...evern better with a slight drop....

some 5 spoke TE-37's would be sexy as hell...extremely hard to find, but the rarity will definitely set your car apart...

Just got an 06 Sedan V6 myself and I wish my wife would have let us do the 6 speed. The interior on these things is amazing.

My wife and I have just the opposite arrangement. She decides on the car, I choose the trim level. (Well she thinks she's choosing the car
)
I think we're going to go with Volk GT-U's or GT-P's. Probably an 18x9 if it fits w/o rubbing the inner fender when I turn.
First is the suspension, then the rims.

It's easy to mistake the number on the doorjamb sticker for the actual weight of the car. But the 4300 is the weight of the car plus maximum cargo and passengers.
As a comparison, the current RL weighs in over 3900 lbs.

Sorry, that was my fault. I should have known that.
What do you guys think of these? They are available in 5 lug

I have seen some seventh gen coupes with those wheels and they look pretty clean. But IMO a 5 or 7 spoke when is even cleaner. You should check out v6p.net in their gallery for some ideas.
