DAMN d16 is still not wanting to start!
ok so its been having this problem for a while my D16Z6 in a 93 ex coupe
the problem
The Car starts fine
however when i try and start the car after its recently been started, the car will not fire.
Example: this morning at the gasoline pump it would not start finally got it started 20 minutes later after letting the car sit.
When i went to start it back up, I have to pump the gas and pump for about 3 seconds to get a steady idle, then the car is home free. Also i had no CEL's.
I do sometimes get a CEL after driving for sometime on the roadways, i went to autozone to get this checked out but they could only check 1996+ ECU's.
Last weekend:
Changed o2 sensor
Change Spark plugs from champions to NGK's, and spark plug wires.

your main relay isn't working right, or the fuel pump, mine does the same thing. when you turn on your key without starting the car you are supposed to get a cel and hear the fuel pump prime, if you don't hear it working or the CEL stays on then its not kicking the relay on.
Now i am a lazy bastard so anytime i have this problem i open my door and firmly hit the side of the dash with my palm, normally i can get the relay to kick on that way. You have to do it when the CEL is on though. So just turn your key on and hit it. It should pump like its supposed to and your good to go.
by the way i recommend you change the relay but like i said I'm pretty lazy when it comes to stuff like that so mine will probably continue untill i get really bored.

1. yes it sounds alot like a main relay.
2. why dont you check your codes your self. Paper clip and 5 mins. down by your ecu. should be the connector to jump. flash out the code. and go look it up. easy.

hmm main relay? i know my fuel pump works i can hear it kick prime. how much is it to change a main relay?
Also how does this paper clip thing work i would have tried it weeks ago if i can find out exactly how to do it?

My bro in law had a similar problem on his car. If you run it for about 40 minutes does it ever die on you mid drive? Sounds kinda like the ignitor. He had no problem starting it cold, once it warmed up tho it would shut itself off.. we also resolderd the main relay too. and we did it at the same time so we dont know which one fixed the problem.

Under the passenger side dashboard, there should be a wire with a connector on the end. It will be the only connecter with only TWO plugs. (There is one that has 3 holes/plugs but that isnt it.)
Once you find that, put a paper clip in each hole, and turn the key on. The check engine light should come on and blink. Count the blinks, a long blink is 10 and a short blink is 1.

Oh yea..just realized theres already a write up lol

no actually my idle seems fine. when it starts cold, it idles at 1900rpm "32 degrees outside farenheight" then down to 1500 then down to 1100. once it is at its regular operating temp it goes down to like 6-700 er whatever normal is. it doesn't jump at all.
Checked my ECU and its Code 6 water temperature sensor. i found on another thread that this caused someone's car not to start once it was hot. can anybody else verify this, i am going to change the sensor this weekend. anybody know of it location. D16Z6 ex coupe
Um get a new one and take out the old one. I have an h22 so i dont know the exact location. mine is under the dizzy. yours should be around that location on that side of the block. maybe get a helms.
and I would still check your ignitor.
and maybe your main relay.

I would say do it while the car is cold. you can drain it if you would like.
Or take the messy route. just pull it out put a new one in and fill up what spilled out. all done.
