gsr swap in my 98 civic ex. tranny grinds under pressure in 3rd and 5th. could this be because im using the ex slave cylinder or is it a bad tranny?

 

what do you mean by under pressure....the civic slave cylinder works just fine...im using it in my integra

 

like if i shift early around 4 grand it wont grind in third. if im racing 3rd will grind sometimes, but 5th always does.

 

youre synchros are going.....flush the tranny fluid and put GM synchromesh in or Pennzoil Synchromesh...it will get rid of the grind...give it some time to work its way in the gears after you put it in before you start trashing on it..like a week or two

 

thanks ill try that. its been going on for a while now is it possible ive permanently screwed up my gears?

 

not yet....you say you only get the grind in high RPM...but the 5th gear grind if its doing it everytime....the synchro is almost completely worn....synchromesh might or might not help 5th
