Default Need some very specific information on ITRs.

First off, yes I searched and yes I checked the FAQ.. I'm not saying I couldn't possibly have missed anything, but I did give it the ol' college try..

As some of you who read the RR/AX forum know, there is an effort underway to get the ITR classed in ITS. As part of this effort, a detailed form must be filled out that provides the SCCA's classing officials to determine if it belongs in that class or not. It's a decent sized form, and I know and found supporting evidence for almost all of it, except some random things. If someone can please help me fill in the blanks on these things, it would be a great help to the community of ITR road racers who hope to compete in IT nationally.

Now.. onto the things I didn't know or wasn't sure of (please answer for OEM equipment ONLY):

1)Windshield slope angle:
2)Rear window slope angle:
3)Deck height:
4)Deck clearance:
5)Head flow type:
6)Valve head diameter:
7)Valve material:
8)Valve actuation type:
9)Piston type:
10)Piston mass:
11)Connecting rod mass:
12)Crankshaft mass:
13)Lift @ valve:
14)Rocker arm ratio:
15)Tappet type:
16)Axle ratio:
17)Ring gear outside diameter:
18)Spring material and thickness (f/r):
19)Overall spring diameter and thickness (f/r):

Feel free to answer any that you can! THANKS!!!

Why?

Most Acura employees know less than your average teenager about Acuras.

Ideas:
- Contact Realtime Racing
- Contact Comptech (I think one of the WCHC or west coast SCCA Hondacup guys has a contact with them)
- Maybe the Helms Manual? Did you check there? Also, isn't there a more detailed Helms called the shop manual or something?

Mark, I'm glad you posted this request in that I've been meaning to post something similar here in the ITR forum for the same purpose.

I might have been able to provide some of the engine specs if my Helms manual set wasn't in the car when it was stolen a couple weeks ago.

your better off just calling honda of japan. most likley hond or acura will not no the specs on the windshield or rear glass thay dont really install them an aftermarket companey will do it for them.

i actually helped out on the WC ITR for GTR Motorsports (Ben Schaeffer) up in MD.. not sure he had to provide this kind of info though, since the car was already classed..

Contacting Comptech and Realtime aren't bad ideas.. I'll email them the same list tonight..

I looked through my helms, but the stuff listed I couldn't find.. much like the search, that doesn't mean it doesn't exist in there, but I sure didn't see it..

hope someone can find at least some of this stuff.. I'm really surprised how detailed the SCCA is with some of the questions..

Piston weights are here:
http://www.lightningmotorsports.com/techpiston.htm

They claim 310g. I'm not sure if that is for a JDM or USDM ITR piston. I can't verify the accuracy.

The valve head diameters should be 28.0mm and 33.0mm for the exhaust and intake, respectively.

5)Head flow type: does this mean wet or dry flow? Injector fires at the port divider, technically would be dry flow I suppose.
6)Valve head diameter: intake 33mm, exhaust 28mm

9)Piston type: full skirt, domed alloy, Molybdenum coated
13)Lift @ valve: intake - 11.5mm, exhaust -10.5mm

Does anyone have some type of level with protractor etc., that they can use to measure the angle of the front and rear windows with (on level ground and possibly stock suspension), and post the results?

Since the GSR is classsed in ITS you may be able to find the VTS for it and copy some information.

1)Windshield slope angle: Same as GSR

2)Rear window slope angle: Same as GSR

3)Deck height: Can't remember

4)Deck clearance: .005"

5)Head flow type: Cross Flow

6)Valve head diameter: I=33mm, E=28mm

7)Valve material: Same as GSR

8)Valve actuation type: Rocker Arm

9)Piston type: Aluminum - Semi-Forged

10)Piston mass: ~ 315g

11)Connecting rod mass: ~ 543g

12)Crankshaft mass: 38lbs

13)Lift @ valve: I = 11.5mm, E = 10.8mm (that's VTEC lobe)

14)Rocker arm ratio: 1.55

15)Tappet type: Rocker Arm

16)Axle ratio: I assume 4.4
17)Ring gear outside diameter: 197mm

18)Spring material and thickness (f/r): Same as GSR since they have the ITR "trunk kit"

19)Overall spring diameter and thickness (f/r): Same as GSR

Thanks guys.. So, as Ausmith pointed out, some of this is the same as the GSR.. Anyone know where to look for its VTS?

Just in case anyone happens to know the rest of this, here's what I'm still missing:

1)Windshield slope angle:

2)Rear window slope angle:

7)Valve material:

18)Spring material and thickness (f/r):

19)Overall spring diameter and thickness (f/r):

Is that angle taken with respect to the ground, or the hood/trunk?

I'm not sure what you're trying to say, but i think its fair to say that those 'measurements' of the front/rear windshield angle aren't to be taken seriously at all. At least any ntelligent person wouldn't use them as fact or estimates.

not that i'm picking on jeff at all. they are pretty .... interesting.

chris - who searched a lot earlier and could not find anything.
